Senegal is a West African country with a rich French colonial heritage and several natural attractions. Although its tourism sector has sharply declined, Senegal is considered a pioneer in the expansion of tourism in Africa. It has great beaches, heritage, friendly people, not to mention the awesome dishes and cuisines.

Moreover, Senegal has a strong diplomatic relationship with Canada in terms of trade and investment. Canadians also visit Senegal for other purposes, especially for tourism.

When traveling to the West African country, Canadians need to have adequate Senegal travel insurance or private medical insurance to protect themselves against medical emergencies, accidents, illness or hospitalization while in Senegal.
