Jackson, a Keeshond-dachshund-pug mix, is an exceptional and good ambassadog. His abilities are beyond imagination and show that his owner Beth Skewis spend ample time with him.

The Keeshond can do everything from spelling letters to adding numbers. In a particular case, Jackson was asked to arrange five cards in front of him to spell the word “SPLAT”. He grabbed the cards one by one in front of him and spelled the word correctly to the bewilderment of all and sundry.

Skewis and Jackson are both members of Blue Gray Therapy Dogs; Kim Fraser, the director of the group has seen Jackson perform magnificently on several occasions so he knows its neither a fluke nor a coincidence. He said that Jackson is a special dog.

Skewis, 54, has raised several dog breeds from miniature pinschers to Chesapeake Bay retrievers. She is the manager of a Stafford County PetSmart. According to her, Jackson is such a gift. She confessed that Jackson is the best dog she has had; none of her other dogs have matched his dexterity.

The dog loves listening to children with special needs. Vicki Bennett, assistant principal at Elite Academy said that some kids won’t read at all because they are below grade level but they read to Jackson since he will not judge them. This also helps the dog to learn letters.

According to Fraser, Jackson is really a good ambassadog for therapy work. “The stuff that Skewis has gotten him to do is absolutely wonderful”, he said.
